About

After studying Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martin’s, London, Zoe creates large and small scale sculptures with porcelain.

By pushing the parameters of porcelain she creates visually absorbing sculptural forms with intense detailed textured.

Her sculptures explore and interpret symbiotic life of coral and nature. With the initial structural forms being interrupted by mutualism growth patterns within, the pieces have a seemingly unexpected organic outcome appearing grown rather than made.

Zoe uses a meticulous process with coiling to create the form of the vessel which allows gradual shape movement and organic motion.

The external ‘crunchy’ body texture contrasts sharply with the internal soft coils which hold further handmade manipulated petals/texture and are individually attached within and glazed with multiple contrasting layers to create depth, highlighting the contrast.
